Andre' Walker explains the importance of listening and understanding what a person is saying in a conflict-resolution situation. Repeat the other persons words, for example: "it sounds like you are saying" or "I'm hearing you say". This allows you to get it right and it also gives the other person an opportunity to clarify their statement if needed.
