Swing Mechanics with Mitch Thompson – Baylor Univ.

September 22, 2020 • By American Baseball Coaches Association

Watch as Coach Mitch Thompson discusses the principles of swing mechanics for his program. Hitting is difficult so he recommends simplifying the process. A lot of problems are a result of an improper grip, so it is important to grip the bat correctly with some looseness in the hand. The stance should be shoulder width, the weight on balls of the feet and the head full face with the eyes on the pitcher. Create a rhythm and load when the pitcher loads. Stride when the pitcher is releasing the ball and have an attack mindset.

Mitch Thompson was formerly at McLennan Community College.
