Watch as Coach Sam Pittman discusses hand placement and technique for offensive lineman in pass protection. The hands must strike with the elbows in tight to the rib cage. Coach demonstrates the proper thumb positioning that will allow for an efficient punch. The punch must be slightly up and not straight out to prevent the butt and shoulder from moving forward. The hand positioning needs to be chest level or a little lower. This can be adjusted a little depending on the individual.
