Watch as Coach and AD Norie Mueller explains, and a pitcher demonstrates the Split and Get Pitching Drill. This is an everyday drill that helps pitchers get off the mound with a sprinter's lean into their pitch. The pitcher stands with her toes facing the catcher, hip-width apart. As the pitcher starts her backswing, she will make a slight jump and her feet will split. It is important that the pitcher lands on the balls of her feet as she finishes the pitch.
