Why I Don’t Yell at Players with Matt Blackburn – Lake Belton High School (TX)

January 4, 2023 • By Softball Coaches Insider

Watch as Coach Matt Blackburn explains why he does not believe in yelling at his players. Players emotionally respond to their coaches during a game and when a coach is mad or angry the players get scared and frustrated. This may inhibit players from taking chances on the field as they are concerned how the coach will respond. He believes that not yelling at players allows them to play free and loose with more confidence.
